Concrete
On Friday the concrete was poured in the basement, garage, and the front porch! It looks great! We didn't get there in time after work to put our initials in it before it dried :(. We will have more chances to do it when Kyle makes us a walk way and a back porch!
Any who, here are some pics of the concrete!
Right now, the well is being dug, and we should be getting electric to the house soon. Kyle and his dad are working on gettting the garage insulated today too. On the schedule for this week is for the drywall to be delivered (and hopefully start on installation!) and maybe siding! Moving right along!

Septic Tank
We have a septic tank! The person we had install it sent a few pics to Kyle while they were working:
It might be a little closer to the house than I imagined but we wanted to have as much field acreage as possible. Along with the tank, they installed two leech lines.
Hopefully tomorrow we will have concrete!

Rough Electric Finished
We stopped by the house Thursday - not much happened except the electrican finishing up his work. The house doesn't look any different than it did a week ago, besides more wires! I snapped a picture of our windows. They are double hung which will be nice when they need cleaned!
The screens are not installed but are sitting in the garage.
Here's a pic of the fire place which seems to be the place to store important things like the permits!
The farmer mowed the field this week! I love the view from the road!

Meeting the electrician.
Today we met with the electrician! He had everything "roughed in" when we got there and we took a little tour around the house. He showed us where all the outlets were and explained where switches would be and what they would control. He asked us where we wanted our 2 cables lines and 2 phone lines and have us some reccomendations on location. It seemed like he knew what most people did- so that's what we went with! He was confident that we had enough lighting and outlets- for the most part. A little suprise we didn't think of was having an outlet for the well and the septic (maybe). So we had to float a little cash to the electrician for that. We also chopped in a little more so we could have 2 lights in the kitchen above the island instead of just one. We found two we really liked at Lowes during one of our many trips! We also added a ceiling fan in the living room. Apparently there was no ceiling light in the plans for the living room (small oversight) we went for the ceiling fan instead of just a light so we could have some air circulation downstairs. Sorry no pictures today :( I figured it was going to look the same today as it will tomorrow. We went to the house straight from work so we were ready to get home and eat dinner!
Until next time, here's a picture of the lights I (we) like. They aren't red though- they are like a greenish color.

Rough plumbing and HVAC
I'm not sure why my last post didn't come up when I first posted it- but it was from earlier this week...
Anywho. Today we got the rough pluming and HVAC installed which means they installed everything in the walls it just has to be hooked up. Our field manager also spray painted some items on the floor which gives is a better idea of space! Our fireplace was installed earlier this week also.
The kitchen! The sink is under the window and the dishwasher beside it. The stove and the fridge are on the left and the island with an eat ledge on the left side.
The toilet downstairs
Oh yeah! We got our shower/tubs too! This is the upstairs bathroom.
On the schedule for next week:
Singles
Windows
Electric
Well
Septic
Have a good weekend!!
Framing: day 3
Sorry I didn't post on Friday- we had a busy fun filled Labor Day weekend!
On Friday they finished up the framing and installed some of the roof and doors. We cannot believe how fast it all went up! The roofers will be there tomorrow!
We took advantage of Labor Day sales this past weekend and bought all of our appliances. We got a really good deal at Lowes! French door refrigerator with the freezer drawer, convection oven, dishwasher and range hood all for $1000 less than we budgeted for. It did take us several trips to lowes to look at everything and comparing about a zillion times before we decided to go with all whirlpool.
