After the color meeting

Ok, so we went to the color meeting a few weeks ago. Sorry I didn't update...

We were at the Office from 6:00 pm through about 9:15 pm. We started off by talking about floor plan changes we wanted to make, which might have taken an hour. Then we made good progress picking out siding, doors, fixtures, ext... but when it came to deciding on the kitchen and bathroom counters/cabinets and floors we hit a wall. We aren't exactly sure what we want, so it was hard making these decsions. We went with white laminate cabinets, grey countertops for the kitchen, whitish brown counters for the bathrooms, wood looking laminate floors all downstairs, beige carpet upstairs, and tile looking vinyl floors in all the bathrooms and laundry room.

I really wish we could have got a book or something that showed us what we had to choose from. It was really hard to make a decsion on the spot, especially after we had been working all day. I think there might be some things we change at our next meeting.

May 7th is the date of our site inspection and pre construction meeting. This is when EVERYTHING is finalised, and it will be harder to change things. We meet our feild manager at our land to go over the details and questions about where exactly the house will be placed, and if there will be any additonal costs. Then we make the hour drive to the office (and probably pick up lunch) to go over all the details of the house to make sure everything is where/what we want. We will get final numbers on the cost of the house so that we can get all of our loan paperwork started. I hope it doesn't take long to get approved!

It will be about a month between our color appointment and our preconstruction meeting, so I am guessing they are really busy! I hope that doesn't mean our field manager will be overwhelmed!

Here are some pics of what our house will look like (without some of the porch on the left)

And here is what our cabinets look like: I hoping they aren't too modern for a country kitchen look!

And our floors!
