So, we had our pre construction meeting last week, and I feel like we got a lot done! But I didn't take any pictures :(
We met our field manager at our land, and after we talked about ourselves for a few minutes we started to stake out where the house is going to be. He had us help him with the measuring and placing the stakes, which I thought was nice of him to make us feel like we were doing something and being a part of the process.
After the stakes were placed, the field manager did some surveying and told us how much brick will probably be showing from the foundation/basement due to the slope of the ground. I believe he said we will be able to see two courses of brick when the house is done. Which is fine with us.
After all that fun we went over some more details, and he let us know some information that we need to find out from our utility contractors. We wrapped everything up there and took a break for lunch, and to make the 45min - hour drive to Delaware to the office.
At the office we went through every detail of the house, and went over every decision we had made to make sure it was what we wanted. From here on out it will be more difficult than just making a note to change something. It didn't take us long to go through everything because we pretty much had our minds made up what we wanted at the color meeting, and we had been e-mailing asking questions. After signing and initialing a bunch of papers, we are one step closer to breaking ground!!! But we still don't have a date until we get closer to our loan closing date :(
Yesterday, we met with the bank and completed our loan application. Hopefully it doesn't take long to go through appraisal and underwriting because WE ARE READY!!! We are hoping we can break ground before the end of June! :) but only time will tell!
